Griptab by Triodent

One of the challenges of dentistry is that everything we do is in miniature. Placing crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers requires precision and a steady hand but the sheer awkwardness of the process can be frustrating, and restorations are often as slippery as a lemon pip, so there’s always the risk of dropping them.

Who hasn’t experienced at least one of these crown seat nightmares?
  • I rinsed it down the sink!
  • I dropped it on the floor!
  • Then ran over it with the chair wheels!
  • I tried cementing it round the wrong way!
  • I dropped it, then because of the delay the cement started to set and it was not fully seated, so I had to start over!
Griptab, created by Triodent, makers of the V3 Sectional Matrix System, changes the way indirect restorations are handled, eliminating the risks and simplifying the process.

Griptab is effectively a small handle that is adhered to a restoration. The light-cured, flexible adhesive is strong and resistant to Silane and moisture, but at the same time is easily and cleanly detached from the restoration at the end of the procedure.

Griptab is designed for dentists, dental assistants and lab technicians, and can be used on all laboratory and CAD/CAM generated indirect restorations. It ensures precise control during try-ins, and during acid-etching, silanation and even ultrasonic cleaning. There is no risk of dropping inlays or crowns on the floor.

By having a handle on the restoration, the dentist has a reliable grip and total mastery of the placement process, especially when using Triodent Pin-Tweezers for extra maneuverability. Whether using Pin-Tweezers or small hemostat pliers to hold the Griptab, the restoration can be picked up and released multiple times in a passive, controlled way. No other placement system is as effective or broad in its application. No other system brings you the same confidence and peace of mind.

Griptab isn’t restricted only to restoration work, either. For example, it can be used when rebonding an extracted tooth where a partial denture is not an option.

Griptabs come in three sizes: Small for inlays and veneers; medium for inlays, onlays, veneers and crowns; and large for crowns. The pack also contains Griptab adhesive.
